Bach's Music

According to some religious folk some people might be big sinners because they let themselves go being swayed by the sound of music...

As one's indoctrination is rooted in fears - that sexuality and music are evil... sort of.. I don't know. Another one fears hell and the eternal damnation. So, these are the controlling devices widely used in religion. People want to be free, but they fear, lest they might miss out on the truth, which they have not yet grasped... So they sit and gobble up religious gibberish, "thee thou, harken."

And the Spirit said unto me again: Behold the Lord hath delivered him into thy hands.  Yea, and I also knew that he had sought to take away mine own life; yea, and he would not hearken unto the commandments of the Lord; and he also had taken away our property. (The Book of Mormons 1 Nephi 4:11)

Am I safe with this religious mumble-jumble? Yes, because it is of the spirit of religion and those who carry this spirit within them succumb to the somber religious piety. They are being led away like unreasonable oxen to the slaughter house. These tactics are widely used by religious leadership in order to keep the faithful really faithful - loyal to only their fraternity.

The Church of Christ in USA does not use any instruments, also not the Mennonites, like the Amish. I suppose that the Adventists also don't use any instruments. So, according to them one sins when using an instrument or hearing music. But, isn't that a religious bandage?

[Romans 14:13-14] Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way. I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Ap. Paul was not familiar with the Gospels yet he had the same spirit.

[Matthew 15:10-11] Hear and understand. It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.

And in [Mark 7:18-22] He said, Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?”

Obviously physical things, as well as sounds so prevalent in the world, which we hear almost every single day, have nothing to do with our spiritual walk with God.

Jesus said: "That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.”

Another thing

If Bach never wrote his music, we would not have Jazz today, because it is the fact that Bach laid the foundation for it with his syncopating musical genius. Yes, syncopation is Bach's, the fundamental form of Jazz today. It is as if weaving off-beats;  between the notes and straight beats one sort of slips through.

Sebastian Bach glorified God with his genius, which God installed in him. Yet, it was Vivaldi that Bach initially followed and borrowed from him the idea of chasing tones, passing each other, pairing and going away... just as it is in dance. Knowing this liberates you.

Narrow indoctrination, like those of Jehovah's Witnesses founded by Charles Taze Russell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovah%27s_Witnesses) and others, like the Adventists movement of Ellen G. White(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellen_G._White) and Church of Christ and Mennonite splinters in the USA threw away music labeling it as evil. Is if that they had no rhythm in their bones and musically deaf ears... they suffered. They wanted to make a melody in their heart but they coudn't. God did not give them tha bility as He did give to others.

Now that they have become the founders and leaders should all other musically gifted people sit under them? Perhaps they feared that music might lead their faithful away from them?

You be the judge.
